Our toddler gymnastics program is best suited to 2-3 years old children but it can be started as early as 18 months in case a child shows strong interest to participate in group activities. It is a playful introduction to gymnastics, where we learn basic shapes, basic movements, play with apparatus, learn basic apparatus skills and dance with music. The main goal of this class is learning body awareness and coordination while keeping up the natural flexibility that this age group has. The key of success is having fun in the class - everything possible will be done to have a good time while learning new skills.
A first class is always completely new to any young child. It takes time for them to familiarize with the type of skills we learn. They will need your encouragement and involvement in the beginning before gradually progressing to work independently. Coming back weekly will give them recognition and confidence, as we repeat and improve the same exercises and build on them. Be happy with as much or as little your child does during their first few sessions. As long they enjoy coming back, they will be able to do more every time. Young children are usually most excited about using apparatus. We use different equipment each week.
